About the BCFACC
British Columbia Farm Animal Care Council

The BC Farm Animal Care Council (BCFACC) is an organization of farmers and ranchers working together to advance responsible, humane animal care within the farm community. BCFACC is the voice of British Columbia producers who care about their livestock and poultry and are committed to all aspects of animal well-being, including proper housing, management, nutrition, disease prevention and treatment, responsible care, humane handling, and, when necessary, humane euthanasia.

Through communication and sharing of knowledge, the BCFACC fosters greater understanding for the responsible way in which BC producers provide for the welfare of their animals. BCFACC also helps the public learn about and appreciate the care and knowledge producers utilize in the production of their food.

Our outreach and education activities across the sector ensure best animal welfare practices and help maintain the public's confidence in products from the BC livestock and poultry sectors. Our work in informed by the latest animal welfare science research to help producers make continual improvements on the environments in which our food is raised.
